Plans for Xmas
This year we are staying in Portugal for Christmas. On the one hand I’m horrified to be watching syrupy Christmas adverts already and hearing the same old Christmas hits everywhere I go, but on the other hand I’m quite excited about decorating the house and eating turkey. I want it to be really special and for me that means a lovely decorated house, a huge feast on the days before, during and after Christmas and plenty of mulled wine throughout.
I have so many ideas and plans for Christmas this year. I want to make the decorations for the Christmas tree, I want to make mince pies and an alternative to Christmas pudding and cake (both of which I can tolerate only) and I want our Christmas feast to be a real corker. In order to make sure I get everything done I’ve done a little plan.
November
Presents for family
Make cinnamon scented candles
Order ham
Make mulled wine sachets
Buy craft supplies for homemade decorations
December
Get Christmas tree – no idea where from!?
Make decorations for Christmas tree
Make table decoration(s)
Mince pies
Clementine cake (alternative to Christmas cake)
Some kind of chocolate roulade / log as alternative to Christmas pudding
Order more wood
Loads to do and with a trip to UK at the end of Nov through to mid Dec, not much time to do it all in. Should be good fun though, bring on Christmas 2011.
